Police Arrest Over 50 in Prayagraj Violence Episode

Following the unrest in Isauta village of Prayagraj's Karchana tehsil, the police have swiftly moved into action. After incidents of arson, vandalism, and stone-pelting, efforts to apprehend the troublemakers are in full swing, with plans to take action under the National Security Act (NSA). Amidst the chaos, around 42 motorcycles were found abandoned at the scene, which the police have now seized. These vehicles are believed to belong to youths involved in the disturbances who fled upon police intervention.

The authorities are currently tracing these vehicles' ownership through their registration numbers, and notices are being sent out to summon individuals for questioning. So far, over 50 suspects have been apprehended, and further arrests continue based on photo and video evidence.

Meanwhile, Azad Samaj Party's leader, Chandrashekhar Azad, stated that those causing the disturbance were not affiliated with his party. He maintained that his party members stayed peacefully with him for eight hours at the circuit house, hinting at a possible conspiracy behind the disturbances.

It’s worth noting that during the chaos, miscreants damaged nearly a dozen vehicles, including three police cars. Several motorcycles were set ablaze, and stone-pelting resulted in injuries to multiple police personnel, including outpost in-charges, and some civilians, including women and children, also got hurt.

The previous day, Prayagraj Police barred MP Chandrashekhar Azad from visiting a Dalit family's home in Isauta village. His frustrated followers began a frenzy, and after Azad was detained and brought to a police circuit house, his supporters resorted to vandalism. They damaged police vehicles and threw bricks, stones, and sticks. The incident footage corroborates these acts.

DCP (Yamuna Nagar) Vivek Chandra Yadav stated that Chandrashekhar's Azad Samaj Party members had gathered in large numbers in Isauta. When informed that entry to the village was restricted, the enraged supporters began pelting stones.
