In the tragic stampede at the Maha Kumbh in Prayagraj, 30 people lost their lives, and 60 others were injured. CM Yogi has announced the formation of a committee to investigate this incident. While discussing the stampede, CM Yogi was visibly moved. He expressed profound sadness over the event, offering heartfelt condolences to the grieving families affected by this tragedy. He mentioned the state administration's prompt response, ensuring all possible measures were taken since last night in coordination with the fair authority police.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath also announced that the state government will provide financial assistance of 2.5 million INR to each family of the deceased victims. A judicial commission will thoroughly investigate the incident and submit its findings to the state government within a specific timeframe. In this regard, the Chief Secretary and the Director General of Police will personally visit Prayagraj to oversee and address any arising issues.

36 People Undergoing Treatment in Prayagraj

CM Yogi Adityanath informed that a large number of devotees had gathered in Prayagraj for a holy dip on the eve of Mauni Amavasya. Sadly, an unfortunate incident occurred on the Akhada route where over 90 individuals were injured, and 30 lost their lives. Currently, 36 people are undergoing treatment in Prayagraj. The incident occurred due to the breaking of barricades by the crowd.
