Prashant Kishor, the founder of Jan Suraj, is a prominent name leading up to the Bihar Assembly elections. He has been vocally criticizing the BJP, Congress, RJD, and JDU for failing to develop Bihar. Kishor is organizing rallies and public meetings across the state, focusing on the need for change. In an exclusive conversation ahead of the Bihar Assembly election dates, today we delve into his strategies.
Jan Suraj, led by Prashant Kishor, is set to contest all 243 seats in Bihar. He asserts that 90% of their candidates will be first-timers in elections, including professionals like doctors, lawyers, social workers, and businesspersons.
Criticism of BJP and RJD
Kishor has leveled serious accusations against both BJP and RJD. He stated, “BJP talks about character and identity, yet its leaders face serious criminal allegations. Meanwhile, RJD is synonymous with kidnapping, extortion, and a gun culture. The people are yearning for change.” He also questioned the educational qualifications of Samrat Chaudhary, highlighting that even BJP's leadership is now under scrutiny.
Caste and New Politics
Kishor took a direct stand against caste politics, asserting that the criterion for Jan Suraj will solely be merit. He declared, “We can find 243 competent individuals for 243 seats. However, we'll ensure representation from all capable societal groups.” He criticized Lalu Yadav for practicing not just caste politics but also nepotism.

Remarks on Nitish and Tejashwi

Regarding Tejashwi Yadav, Kishor criticized that his sole aim is to become a minister, whereas Jan Suraj aims for transformative change in Bihar.
State of the Congress
Kishor described Congress as a mere follower of RJD in Bihar. “Rahul Gandhi might be a big leader, but Congress in Bihar depends on RJD. Kanhaiya Kumar isn’t allowed to campaign here as RJD doesn't want Congress to gain strength,” he noted.
Electoral Battle and Claims
Kishor confidently stated that Jan Suraj will attain decisive majority. “Ultimately, Jan Suraj will triumph. Even if we secure 60–70 seats, we will not ally with any party. Our legislators are free to choose their paths, but Jan Suraj will continue engaging with the public,” he emphasized.
