From the platform of today's Agenda, Pranav Adani, the Director of Adani Enterprises, candidly shared his opinions on various issues. When asked whether businessmen often become 'soft targets' for political accusations, he clearly stated that in a democracy, everyone is accountable. However, if you maintain transparency, there's no need to fear any allegations.

Pranav Adani emphasized, “We live in a democracy where accountability is fundamental. It is natural for investigations to occur if accusations arise. However, if you haven't done anything wrong and have a clean model of governance, there's no reason for concern. While states may have different political preferences, the need for development and investment is universal.”

He illustrated that different parties govern various states, yet they all seek investment, hoping people will choose to invest in their regions.

Pranav Adani also addressed the globally renowned Dharavi Redevelopment Project in Mumbai. He highlighted its uniqueness as a model whereby residents will be rehabilitated in the very area they live. Historically, efforts to redevelop Dharavi had been ongoing for 40 years without fruition. Now, with the issuance of international tenders, the Adani Group has been given the opportunity for redevelopment.

He further explained, the question arises: how do you view rehabilitation? We believe that without a doubt, this project will flourish over time as it is a vital development for Mumbai. The plan includes building 200,000 homes in what are currently slum areas. The government has assured that those residing there before the year 2000 will receive homes there, while those who moved after 2000 will be relocated to homes elsewhere within Mumbai.

He pointed out that the biggest fear is whether residents will be displaced without receiving homes. Understanding this concern, the Adani Group is constructing the homes first, handing over the keys to people, and then continuing with the redevelopment process.

'Mumbai Should Have 2 to 3 Airports'

Discussing Mumbai Airport, Pranav Adani observed that even a city like London has 4 to 5 airports. Mumbai should have at least 2 to 3 airports. The upcoming airport in Navi Mumbai will bring significant change, potentially reducing travel time by around half an hour. He also mentioned that we are working on infrastructure development across different states, including plans for expanding Assam's airport. Assam is geographically strategic and should have attracted more investment long ago.
