The special podcast featuring Prime Minister Narendra Modi and American podcaster Lex Fridman was released on Sunday. During this profound and detailed conversation, PM Modi shared his views on significant topics such as India's rich cultural heritage, scientific progress, technology, artificial intelligence, democracy, global diplomacy, and spirituality. Lex Fridman remarked that many wars are currently raging globally. Can you share how you plan to bring about peace between Russia and Ukraine?
In response, PM Modi stated, 'I represent a nation rooted in the teachings of Lord Buddha, the land of Mahatma Gandhi. These great men were devoted entirely to peace. Therefore, culturally and historically, our background is so strong that when we speak of peace, the world pays attention, because India is the land of Gautama Buddha and Mahatma Gandhi. We have never been proponents of conflict.'

He added, 'We support harmony. We do not wish for conflict against nature, nor do we want strife among nations. We seek coordination. If we can play any role in this, we have continuously attempted to do so. I have close relations with both Russia and Ukraine. I can sit with President Putin and say this is not the time for war, and I also say to President Zelensky in a friendly manner, brother, no matter how much the world stands with you, solutions will never emerge from the battlefield. Solutions will only arise when Ukraine and Russia come to the negotiating table.'

The Prime Minister said that no matter how much the world brainstorms with Ukraine, it will not yield results. The presence of both sides is essential. Both countries have in fact suffered significant loss, as has the entire world. The Global South has been particularly affected. There has been a crisis of food, fuel, and fertilizers worldwide. The entire world desires peace as soon as possible. I always say I am not neutral. I have a side — that of peace.
