Addressing a rally in Chhattisgarh's Bastar ahead of the Lok Sabha elections, Prime Minister Narendra Modi vowed to maintain the free ration scheme to ensure savings for the poor for the next five years.
Targeting the Congress, PM Modi alleged that corruption had been synonymous with the party's rule, affecting the poor the most as they were deprived of their rightful dues. He said that in Congress's tenure, only 15 paise of every rupee released from Delhi would reach the villages. The Prime Minister claimed he has ended the system of embezzlement ended by Congress.
34 Trillion Sent Directly Into Beneficiaries' Accounts
PM Modi boasted that his government has transferred 34 trillion rupees directly to the beneficiaries’ bank accounts, bringing an end to the earlier fraud where 85 paise of every rupee sent would vanish before reaching the supposed recipient.
Issue of Ram Temple Consecration Raised
With Ram Navami approaching, PM Modi highlighted that Lord Ram would grace believers from a grand temple in Ayodhya, not from a tent as in the past 500 years. However, he criticized Congress and its allies for showing resentment towards the temple's construction and snubbing the consecration invite. He inferred that Congress leaders' behavior showcases their willingness to appease certain groups at the cost of cultural values.

PM Modi committed to addressing every concern of the poor and mentioned his government's establishment of more than 11,000 Jan Aushadhi centers providing medications at 80% discounts, saving the poor a collective 30 trillion rupees. He also addressed India's fight against the COVID pandemic, contrasting the rapid deployment of vaccines under his administration to the considerable delays experienced under previous Congress-led governments.
