The founder of Facebook and CEO of Meta, Mark Zuckerberg, might find himself in a tight spot soon as the parliamentary committee plans to summon Meta's parent company. This announcement came from the IT and Communication Parliamentary Committee Chairman Nishikant Dubey, who shared details on his social media platform X.
He remarked, 'My committee will summon Meta for this misinformation. Such incorrect information in any democratic country tarnishes its image. For this mistake, that institution will have to apologize to the Indian Parliament and the people here.'

However, his assertion is inaccurate in the context of India, leading to increased criticism. Central Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw also tagged Meta in a post on X, expressing that providing false information is particularly unfortunate. Meanwhile, Nishikant Dubey indicated that Meta will be summoned over the issue.
