The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has made significant strides in the brutal killing of Bajrang Dal activist Suhas Shetty in Karnataka. A chargesheet against 11 individuals connected to the case has been filed by NIA. This chargesheet was presented Wednesday at the NIA Special Court in Bengaluru, unraveling the conspiracy behind the murder.

The NIA remarked that this was not a random murder; it was a targeted killing aimed at instilling fear and terror in society. According to the investigative agency, seven assailants, armed with swords and knives, ambushed Suhas Shetty on the afternoon of May 1, 2025, leading to his public execution and sparking nationwide outrage.

Taking over the case on directions from the Ministry of Home Affairs, the NIA discovered a meticulously plotted conspiracy behind Suhas Shetty's murder. For months, the victim's movements were tracked meticulously. The murderers monitored his daily activities, his routes, and even his car's movements. On May 1, the accused followed Suhas Shetty's Innova car using two vehicles.

NIA's findings revealed that the perpetrators deliberately caused an accident involving Suhas Shetty's Innova before blocking all exits by ramming another vehicle into it. As Suhas stepped out, the attackers pursued him and launched a brutal assault with swords and knives, resulting in his death. This heinous crime has been classified as a terrorist conspiracy.

According to investigation details, former members of the banned organization, Popular Front of India (PFI), orchestrated the entire plot. Abdul Safwan, also known as Kalavaru Safwan, emerged as the chief conspirator, along with others named Niyaz alias Nia, Mohammad Musamir alias Muhammed alias Mujammil, Naushad alias Wamanjoor Naushad alias Chotu, and Adil Mehroof.

Adil Mehroof financed the execution of this criminal plan, not only facilitating logistics but also recruiting conspirators who either bore old grudges against the victim or were driven by monetary gain. NIA's report categorizes this murder as part of a broader strategy to incite fear. The act was publicly carried out to instill terror among a particular social segment.
