New Delhi CM to be Announced Before Kejriwal's Resignation, AAP Legislative Meeting Today

The political scene across the country is abuzz following the announcement of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal's resignation. He is likely to step down from the Chief Minister's post on Tuesday, September 17. In the meantime, the Aam Aadmi Party has convened a meeting of the legislative assembly to select Delhi's new CM, after which Kejriwal will meet the Lieutenant Governor to hand over his resignation.

The Aam Aadmi Party has announced a legislative assembly meeting on Monday, scheduled for 11:30 AM on Tuesday. During this meeting, after the discussion on the new Chief Minister of Delhi's name, Arvind Kejriwal will meet the LG at 4:30 PM to hand over his resignation. It is said that before Kejriwal resigns, the leader of the legislative assembly and the next Chief Minister of Delhi will be announced. This meeting will take place at the CM's residence.

AAP leader Saurabh Bhardwaj mentioned that Arvind Kejriwal is actively consulting with every leader in the Political Affairs Committee meeting on the selection of the new Chief Minister. The discussion on the new Chief Minister will be held by Arvind Kejriwal in the legislative assembly meeting on Tuesday.

AAP Releases Formal Meeting Notice

National Secretary Pankaj Gupta has sent formal notice to all MLAs for this legislative assembly meeting. Arvind Kejriwal, the national convener of AAP and CM of Delhi, chaired a crucial Political Affairs Committee (PAC) meeting on Monday to discuss the appointment of Delhi's new Chief Minister. All the ministers of the current cabinet attended this meeting, where Kejriwal held one-on-one discussions for deliberation on the new Chief Minister's name.

Sharing details of the PAC meeting, senior AAP leader and Cabinet Minister Saurabh Bhardwaj stated that on Sunday, CM Arvind Kejriwal announced he would resign from the Chief Minister's post on Tuesday. On Monday, Arvind Kejriwal sought time to tender his resignation.

He further mentioned, 'The Lieutenant Governor has given time to meet on Tuesday evening. Therefore, Arvind Kejriwal, the national convener and CM of Delhi, called for the Political Affairs Committee (PAC) meeting on Monday. Senior party leaders and all ministers of the current cabinet were present in this meeting.'

The Delhi minister also mentioned that CM Arvind Kejriwal discussed the issue of the new Chief Minister one by one with the PAC members and ministers present at the meeting and took their feedback. On Tuesday, there will be a meeting of AAP's legislative assembly, and CM Kejriwal will present the discussion from the PAC meeting to the legislators, and a decision will be made on Delhi's new Chief Minister.

Names in the Race for CM!

Although Aam Aadmi Party maintains suspense around the next CM, four leaders are said to be in the race for the Chief Minister's post: Atishi, Kailash Gahlot, Gopal Rai, and Saurabh Bhardwaj.

BJP Targets AAP

Following Arvind Kejriwal's announcement of his resignation from the CM's post, the Bharatiya Janata Party has criticized AAP. Delhi BJP's chief spokesperson and Lakshmi Nagar MLA Abhay Verma said the plan lacks clarity and parameters. Everyone is being asked to fill out forms. No one knows who will benefit from this plan. Even we are waiting for the final draft of the scheme.
