In response to the verbal abuse against Prime Minister Narendra Modi's mother, the NDA has strongly objected and called for a statewide shutdown in Bihar. This announcement was made during a joint press conference held in Patna on Tuesday. NDA leaders stated that Bihar would remain shut from 7 AM to 12 PM on September 4.
The NDA clarified that emergency services would not be disrupted during the shutdown. The event will be conducted peacefully and democratically.
Dilip Jaiswal, BJP's state president, stated in the press conference that the insult hurled at the Prime Minister's mother has deeply hurt the sentiments of millions. He emphasized that all NDA affiliate parties would vehemently oppose this shameful remark.
The Women's Wing Takes Charge of the Shutdown
According to the announcement, the responsibility of spearheading the shutdown has been given to the BJP Women's Wing. Activists from the Women's Wing will lead the protests from the streets. State presidents of all NDA affiliate parties were present at the press conference, showcasing unity and urging for the success of the shutdown.
According to NDA leaders, insulting the Prime Minister's mother is not just an affront to an individual, but an insult to the maternal power of the nation. The response is a peaceful shutdown.
Notably, during the ‘Voter Rights Journey’ in Bihar, derogatory remarks were made about Prime Minister Narendra Modi's mother. This incident occurred in the last week of August 2025, leading to the arrest of the alleged 20-year-old accused, Riaz, by Bihar Police. He has been charged under several IPC sections. FIRs have also been filed against other unidentified individuals linked to the slogans in the event. The police have stated that the investigation is nearing completion, and the chargesheet will be submitted to the court soon. Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and Home Minister Amit Shah also condemned the incident.
