The elite Crime Branch is investigating the shooting outside the residence of Bollywood superstar Salman Khan, scouring all available CCTV footage from the area. Fifteen police teams are exhaustively investigating the case from every angle. In a significant breakthrough, the bike used by the shooters has been recovered and is undergoing forensic analysis. After the attack, the shooters seem to have abandoned the bike in the Bandra area and continued their escape in a rickshaw, possibly crossing Dahisar check post. It's suspected that these shooters might be from outside Maharashtra, possibly from Haryana or Rajasthan. There’s also speculation that the notorious gangster Rohit Godara might have arranged these shooters.
Rohit Godara, originally from Lunakaran in Bikaner, Rajasthan, is known for his serious criminal record, with over 32 cases to his name. A well-known figure in the criminal world since 2010, Godara has demanded ransoms ranging from 5 to 17 crores from businessmen in Rajasthan. He's also accused of the murder of gangster Raju Thehat in Sikar. On June 13, 2022, he fled to Dubai on a fake passport, on which he had changed his name to Pavan Kumar. Currently, he is believed to be in Canada, with a red corner notice issued against him.
In the aftermath of the shooting outside Salman Khan's residence, images of the two attackers have been revealed. One is seen in a black and white t-shirt, while the other is in red. Based on these images, there's an intense search underway for the shooters. Footage from February 29, 2024, showing a man named Vishal at a dhaba in Rohtak, Haryana, is being linked to this case due to a resemblance with the Mumbai CCTV footage's suspect.

The Mumbai police have registered a case under the Arms Act against the shooters, with DCP Rajatilak Roshan stating that early in the morning, two unknown individuals fired shots outside actor Salman Khan's Bandra residence. No casualties were reported. The police received information about five rounds being fired, and an FIR has been registered against the unknown assailants under IPC Section 307 (attempt to murder) and the Arms Act. The investigation is ongoing and the culprits are expected to be apprehended soon.
A total of five shots were fired, with four aimed towards Salman Khan's home and one bullet found unfired on the ground. The shooting was perpetrated using a 7.65 MM bore pistol. Salman has previously received numerous threats, warranting serious attention from the police to the case. Maharashtra's Chief Minister Eknath Shinde himself has spoken to Salman Khan, reassuring his confidence in the swift apprehension of the suspects.
"This is an unfortunate incident," stated Chief Minister Eknath Shinde. "The police are thoroughly investigating. The culprits will soon be caught and will face stern action. No one will be spared for taking the law into their own hands. The Mumbai Police Commissioner has been instructed to increase the security for Salman Khan and his family. I have spoken with Salman Khan, and the government stands with him; there's no need for him to worry," he added.

In light of this incident, many wonder if the attackers were aware of Salman Khan's presence during the shooting. Was the attack merely to instill fear, or did it have a more sinister intent? Previously, Salman Khan had been threatened by gangster Lawrence Bishnoi and Goldie Brar, after which his security had been heightened. Post the shooting, a Facebook post allegedly by Anmol Bishnoi, Lawrence Bishnoi's younger brother, has come to light. In it, he claims responsibility for the firing at Salman Khan's home. This raises questions about the connection between these two individuals and whether the Lawrence Bishnoi group is behind the attack on Salman's house.
