Mumbai Doc Swindled of 80 Lakhs with High Return Investment Scam, Victim Loses Home

Slick con artists, leveraging inventive ways, continue to bait and deceive individuals into criminal traps, as unveiled in Mumbai. A doctor fell prey to a significant scam, swindled out of 80 lakh rupees. The crook enticed the doctor with lucrative investment returns. The 65-year-old physician was ensnared in deceit and lost 80 lakhs in the game shaped by false promises.

According to a news reports by PTI, police have registered a case of fraud against an individual. The suspect, identified as Kurla resident Shariyar Chatriwala alias Shoeb Memon, is said to have tricked the Nashik-based Dr. Ghanshyam Verma with investment scams over six years.

Verma reportedly borrowed money from relatives. He went so far as to sell his house to satisfy the demands of the defrauder. Based on the doctor’s complaint, police filed a case under IPC Section 420, and the investigation is ongoing.
