For the past month, the BJP legislator from Mauganj has been in hiding, citing threats from the notorious 'Moosa Gang' on social media. However, police refute such existence in the district. Meanwhile, a BJP MP has fueled the political debate by claiming the legislator is merely on 'leave.'

The last public appearance by the BJP MLA was on January 4, 2026, when he staged a protest concerning a contested land issue. Facing intense protest, the MLA had to flee to save himself from the agitated crowd.

The land issue is currently with the courts. A significant police presence at the site managed to extricate the MLA from the crowd. Subsequently, BJP legislator Pradeep Patel vanished without a trace.

Recently, the legislator issued a statement citing threats to his life and explained his distance from the area, blaming the Moosa Gang. Yet, SP Dilip Soni dismisses these claims, asserting no such gang exists.

Conversely, his party's MP, Janardan Mishra, adds heat to the political corridors by claiming the MLA is on a holiday, sparking fresh debates. Mishra emphasized the necessity for everyone to take breaks from work, including the legislator.

Rumors are rife about the legislator's disappearance, with locals attributing it not to the Moosa Gang but to a private land dispute.

The ruling party's MLA had filed a complaint against the landowner about plans to burn him alive. Despite police actions against several individuals, the legislator remains dissatisfied.
