On the centenary of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh, Chief Mohan Bhagwat remarked that neither he nor anyone else would retire at 75. These comments were made during an ongoing program celebrating the organization's 100 years, as he spoke to reporters.
A question was raised referencing his statement about politicians retiring after 75 years of age. In his reply, Bhagwat cited a humorous anecdote from Moropant Pingale, who at the age of 70, received a shawl from Sarkaryawah HV Seshadri at an All-India Workers Conference and was invited to speak.
Bhagwat shared that Pingale humorously expressed that receiving the shawl meant he was considered old and should sit back and observe. He emphasized that neither he nor anyone else should retire solely based on age.

He expressed that in the Sangh, they act as volunteers, and even if they reach 80 and the Sangh requires them to lead a branch, they will. He mentioned the absence of retirement benefits in the organization and that it should not be a consideration for stepping down at 75.

Further, Bhagwat stated that the Sangh dictates actions and questioned the notion of him being the sole individual to lead as Sarsanghachalak. He urged readiness to work beyond the age of 75 and the willingness to retire whenever necessary.
