The new residence for former Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar has been finalized in New Delhi. Under the Directorate of Estates of the Ministry of Urban Development, a government Type-8 bungalow located at 34, APJ Abdul Kalam Road, has been vacated for him.
This prestigious bungalow will soon be allocated to Dhankhar. However, insiders reveal that if Dhankhar is not satisfied with this accommodation, the ministry will provide another option.
According to the rules, former Presidents, Vice Presidents, and Prime Ministers are allotted Type-8 government residences in the Lutyens Zone. Additionally, they are offered an option of two acres of land at their ancestral place.
This tradition continues by offering top-tier residential amenities to Jagdeep Dhankhar, as enjoyed by other leaders who have held the nation's highest constitutional positions.
It's noteworthy that Dhankhar resigned from his position on July 21, citing health reasons. However, opposition leaders contend that health might not be the only reason, as throughout the day's meetings and Rajya Sabha proceedings, he exhibited no signs of poor health.
