The condition of Saurabh Rajput murder case accused in Meerut is worsening inside the jail. Muskaan Rastogi, the main accused, and her lover Sahil Shukla are under judicial custody in the central jail, constantly making demands. Allegedly addicted to drugs and alcohol, they are requesting drugs from jail administration. They want marijuana and morphine injections, and have refused to eat unless these are provided.

Jail authorities claim both exhibit symptoms of drug dependency. They want to stay in the same barrack, but are informed it's against regulations. Muskaan has requested a government lawyer, aware her family won't support her. Jail sources report Muskaan and Sahil struggle with sleep and refuse to eat, often found restlessly pacing the barracks.

Senior Jail Superintendent Viresh Raj Sharma stated, "Both Sahil and Muskaan have long-term drug habits causing them to suffer withdrawal symptoms, including insomnia." Doctors have prescribed medication to manage symptoms, monitored by a dedicated team. Police investigations reveal regular drug and alcohol use by the accused, with no visitors since their imprisonment.

Muskaan has applied for a government lawyer, stating her parents have turned their backs on her. She needs legal representation. On Saturday, she requested a meeting, expressing her family would not fight for her and asking for a government-provided attorney.

Senior Jail Superintendent assured that if a prisoner requests a government lawyer, it is their duty to provide one. They've accepted her application, forwarding it to the court for a lawyer appointment. Sahil hasn't requested legal aid yet. Regarding their shared barrack request, authorities maintain regulations won't allow a male and female to cohabit in jail.

On prison work mandates, ten days' reprieve applies to all new inmates. Post this period, inmates interested in work must await administration decisions. Since starting medication, both Muskaan and Sahil's behavior is stabilizing, allowing contemplation on their case.

Detailing the crime, on March 3rd, Muskaan, 27, and Sahil, 25, allegedly killed Saurabh Rajput, dismembered the body, and sealed it in a cement-filled blue drum. Afterward, they traveled to Kasol on March 10th, staying six days before returning to Meerut on March 17th. A day earlier, Muskaan celebrated Sahil's birthday. A Meerut police team has also visited Manali and Kasol for investigation.

The postmortem report on Saurabh Rajput unveils the brutality of the crime, revealing decapitation and mutilation. The cause of death is attributed to shock and severe blood loss, from three forceful penetrations near the heart with a sharp object. The forensic team described the attack as savagely piercing the heart.

Surgeons reported that the incisions penetrated deeply into the heart. Confirming the report, SP Ayush Vikram Singh said, "Muskaan's heart attack on Saurabh was ruthless, resulting in a split heart and severed neck and hands, with limbs meticulously dismembered to fit the body into the drum."

Revealing further case insights: "The drum-held corpse was cemented, preserving it due to lack of air exposure. Odor was surprisingly contained, and extraction required intense effort to cut the hard cement." Doctors have denounced the act as heinous.

Uttar Pradesh Police plans to fast-track the case in court, aiming for swift justice. SSP Vipin Tada prioritizes quick charge sheet filings, determined to expedite convictions. The police plan to reapprehend Muskaan and Sahil post their judicial custody.
