The Aajtak team arrived at Kanpur railway station at 3 AM to assess the Mahakumbh special train. It was crammed with passengers, and women and children struggled to board, forced to sit on the floor. Frustrated commuters shared their predicament—roadways were jammed, compelling them to opt for trains. They couldn't afford road travel, yet the special trains offered no solace; the situation inside was dismal.

Passengers on the Mahakumbh special train expressed dissatisfaction with the government's arrangements. Regular train seats were unavailable, and they endured long hours of standing, facing myriad difficulties.

Congestion Halts at Rewa

The influx of travelers to the Mahakumbh continues unabated, intensifying vehicle pressure on routes from Rewa to Prayagraj. A staggering 15-km traffic jam ensnares pilgrims from afar. At chokepoints like Chakghat, Sohagi Ghati, and others, throngs are trapped.

Past Chakghat at the Rewa border, the passage is sealed. Vehicles are held at places like Shri Yut College, Gangew, and Bela with roads cleared slowly after coordination with Prayagraj authorities. The Prayagraj-bound and inbound lanes on the highway are heavily congested, inspected by the Collector and SP at Mangawan and Gangew.

Sangam Station Shuts till February 14

Prayagraj's Sangam Station (Daraganj) is closed until February 14, reflecting the crowd's intensity. A notice from the railway confirmed this, citing orders from the Prayag district administration, indicating the station will not function for passengers from February 9 at 1:30 PM to February 14 midnight.
