On Saturday, the capital city of Madhya Pradesh, Bhopal, introduced its state-of-the-art pod hotel to travelers at the railway station. This modern amenity was jointly inaugurated by Bhopal MP Alok Sharma and DRM Devashish Tripathi. Modeled after Mumbai Central Railway Station, this pod hotel facilitates unparalleled rest for weary passengers during their journey.
The rise in passenger numbers and limited waiting area capacity at the stations prompted this new development. For long, there was a demand for a well-structured, clean, and convenient rest area at Bhopal Station, a demand now met through this pod hotel.
Bookings for this pod hotel can be made on the IRCTC website or offline at the station. However, passengers are required to provide their PNR number. Noteworthy features of the hotel include a total of 78 pods: 58 single pods with 40 designated for men and 18 for women, as well as 20 family pods suitable for 2 adults and 2 children.
Inside each pod, travelers will find a pillow, bedsheet, reading light, charging socket, phone, locker, and high-speed Wi-Fi. When it comes to pricing, a single pod can be booked for ₹200 for 3 hours, ₹350 for 6 hours, ₹500 for 9 hours, ₹700 for 12 hours, and ₹900 for 24 hours. Family pod rates range from ₹400 for 3 hours to ₹1500 for a full day.
