Following the terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, Indian security forces continue their operation. In Pulwama, the homes of active militants have been demolished by Indian security forces. In a new action, two more houses belonging to active militants in the valley have been destroyed. The two-story house of active Lashkar cadre Ahsan Ahmad Sheikh, residing in Murran, Pulwama, was demolished using an IED since June 2023.

In another operation, the house of Shahid Ahmed, who joined Lashkar two years ago, was blown up in Chotipora, Shopian. Since the Pahalgam attack, a total of five militant houses have been demolished.

Demolition of Five Militant Homes

Furthermore, last night, the third house of Zakir Gani in Qaimooh, Kulgam was destroyed by security forces; he joined Lashkar in 2023. Since the Pahalgam attack, the homes of five active Lashkar cadre militants have been demolished: Adil Gojari (Bijbehara), Asif Sheikh (Tral), Ahsan Sheikh (Pulwama), Shahid Kutte (Shopian), and Zakir Gani (Kulgam).

On Friday night, security forces demolished Zakir Gani's house in Qaimooh, Kulgam, after he joined Lashkar in 2023. Additionally, Adil Thokar's house in Bijbehara and Asif Sheikh's house in Tral were also destroyed.

Before demolishing the house in Pulwama, security forces had blown up the house of Adil Hussain Thokar, involved in the Pahalgam attack, in Anantnag's Bijbehara locality.

In the same operation, Asif Sheikh’s house in Tral was bulldozed by the Jammu and Kashmir administration. Military sources reported that a group of four terrorists from Lashkar-e-Taiba (LET), armed with steel-tipped bullets, AK-47 rifles, and body cameras, targeted and shot at tourists, specifically Hindus, in Pahalgam on April 22, resulting in the loss of 26 lives, mostly tourists from different Indian states visiting Jammu and Kashmir.

The terrorists included two locals whose identities were confirmed as Adil Hussain Thokar from Bijbehara and Asif Sheikh from Tral.

Training in Terror Camps

According to military sources, Adil legally traveled to Pakistan via the Atari-Wagah border in 2018, received training in terror camps there, and returned to Jammu and Kashmir last year. Eyewitnesses of the Pahalgam attack mentioned hearing conversations in Pashtun among the terrorists. Sources emphasized that all terrorists involved were members of the Pakistan-based terror outfit Lashkar-e-Taiba. However, The Resistance Front (TRF) claimed responsibility for the attack, projected as a local group’s operation to disguise LET’s involvement.
