Maruti e Vitara Launch:

The number of electric cars on Indian roads is rapidly increasing. New models electrify the market frequently, yet many customers await Maruti’s first electric car eagerly. Today marks the end of that wait. Maruti Suzuki, India's top carmaker, is officially launching its electric car 'Maruti e Vitara' for sale. Discover the exciting new Maruti e Vitara.

Notably, before its launch in India, Maruti Suzuki’s car has already touched foreign lands. This electric vehicle is being produced at Maruti's Hansalpur plant in Gujarat, where on August 26th, Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the local production of hybrid battery electrodes at the plant. On this occasion, the PM flagged off the 'Maruti e Vitara', marking the start of its exports.

The company targets to export this car to over 100 countries worldwide. Maruti Suzuki plans to produce 67,000 electric vehicles in the financial year 2026, most of which will be exported, enhancing the 'Made in India' stature globally. So far, approximately 7,000 units of this car have been exported, reaching countries like Japan and Europe.

In the first batch from Gujarat's Pipava port, Maruti Suzuki exported 2,900 cars. Initially, these cars were sent to 12 countries, including the United Kingdom, Germany, Norway, France, Denmark, Switzerland, the Netherlands, Sweden, Hungary, Iceland, Austria, and Belgium. Now, it is being launched in India.

Internationally, the Suzuki e Vitara is available with two battery options: 49kWh and 61kWh. Both power a front-mounted electric motor, while the larger 61kWh pack can be paired with a second motor, equipping the car with an all-wheel-drive system named 'All-Grip E' by the company.

It is essential to note that the driving range figures adhere to the Worldwide Harmonized Light Vehicle Test Procedure (WLTP). However, during its showcase at India's Mobility Global Expo, Maruti claimed a driving range of up to 500 km. Initially, only the front-wheel-drive (FWD) variant will launch in India, with an all-wheel-drive (AWD) variant expected later.

While it's premature to speculate on the Maruti e Vitara’s price before the launch, it’s clear pricing will be a significant challenge for Maruti Suzuki. Known for affordable options among Indian customers, Maruti aims to price its electric car competitively against its rivals.

The car is expected to launch at a starting price of 1.8-1.9 million INR, with higher variants possibly reaching 2.5 million INR.
