Israeli Tourist Among Two Women Attacked in Karnataka

A chilling incident has emerged from the renowned tourist destination of Hampi in Karnataka. Unidentified individuals targeted two women, including a foreign tourist, committing acts of violence. Additionally, they assaulted three male companions, throwing them into the water. Tragically, the body of one male was discovered on Saturday morning.

The police state that this terrible incident unfolded between 11:00 and 11:30 PM on Thursday near the Sanapur Lake. The attackers violated a 27-year-old Israeli woman and a 29-year-old homestay operator.

The Discovery of an Odisha Tourist’s Body in the Lake

An Odisha tourist accompanying the women disappeared after the assailants pushed him into the Tungabhadra canal. His body was recovered from the lake on Saturday morning. Meanwhile, two other tourists from America and Maharashtra sustained injuries and are now hospitalized.

A special police unit has been mobilized to investigate this heinous crime. Following this incident, a case has been registered at the Gangavathi Rural Police Station. With the recovery of the deceased's body, murder charges will also be added.

Attackers Pretended to Ask About a Petrol Pump

According to the FIR, four tourists and a homestay operator were enjoying themselves near Sanapur Lake when three individuals arrived on motorcycles, ostensibly to inquire about a petrol pump. Upon being informed by the homestay operator that there was not a petrol pump nearby, they demanded money.

When the tourists refused to hand over cash, the perpetrators, speaking Kannada and Telugu, began using abusive language and launched an assault. They forcibly threw the three male tourists into the canal.

Police's Vigorous Search for the Accused

According to the victim, while her friends were attempting to escape the canal, two of the three attackers assaulted her and an Israeli woman. Post-incident, a special police team is committed to capturing the culprits. A diligent search by the dog squad and fire department officials was conducted from Friday morning, and the missing tourist's body was located on Saturday morning. The police are now determined to identify and apprehend the attackers promptly.
