Renowned comedian Kapil Sharma's cafe in Surrey, Canada, known as Kap's Cafe, has once again been subjected to an attack. This is the second instance of his establishment being targeted by a shooting. A video widely circulated on social media shows a group firing shots towards the cafe from a car. Meanwhile, a gangster named Goldy Dhillon has claimed responsibility for this shooting incident. On social media, he asserted that his gang carried out the attack.
No injuries have been reported in connection with the shooting as of now. Local police have begun their investigation. There has been no official response from Kapil Sharma regarding this incident to date. It is worth noting that Goldy Dhillon has alleged ties to the Lawrence Bishnoi gang. In an online post, Goldy stated, 'Jai Shri Ram, Sat Sri Akal, greetings to all brothers. The responsibility for the firing today at Kapil Sharma's Surrey-based Kap's Cafe lies with Goldy Dhillon and the Lawrence Bishnoi gang. We attempted to contact him, but he didn’t answer the calls, hence this necessary action. If we receive no response again, the next action will take place in Mumbai soon.' SPS Responds to Shooting Incident
The Surrey Police Service (SPS) reported that gunshots were heard at about 4:40 a.m. on August 7th at a commercial complex on 120 Street in the Newton district. Upon arrival, police found bullet marks on the windows and building of the cafe, though no harm came to staff inside. Authorities noted that this is the same location that previously experienced a similar shooting incident on July 10th.
Following this event, numerous units from the Surrey and Delta Police Departments arrived at the scene to initiate investigations. The Surrey Police's Frontline Investigative Support (FLIS) team has taken over the formal inquiry of this matter. Despite Goldy Dhillon's social media claims of responsibility, no official confirmation has been made by the police. For now, security around the cafe has been heightened.
Previous Shooting Incident
On July 10th of last month, Kapil Sharma's Kap's Cafe was also subjected to a shooting. Footage from that day displayed an assailant drawing a pistol from a car and firing 10 to 12 rounds. Responsibility for the previous shooting was claimed by Harjeet Singh Laddi, a Khalistan-inspired terrorist included in the NIA's most wanted list and associated with the Babbar Khalsa International (BKI). Laddi suggested the shooting occurred due to a past comment made by Kapil Sharma.
