Congress leader and former Madhya Pradesh minister, Jaivardhan Singh, has accused the Mohan Yadav government of weakening urban frameworks within the state. He asserted that despite over two decades in power, the BJP-led administrations have consistently failed to implement master plans for urban development.

Congress MLA Jaivardhan Singh criticized the BJP government under Chief Minister Yadav for its two-year term, labeling it a period marked by failure in urban development, corruption, and unemployment.

He remarked that the Madhya Pradesh government's claims of successful achievements over its two-year tenure are mere façades, potentially misleading the public regarding their future prospects.

'Failures in the Master Plan'

Raghogarh MLA claimed, "These two years under the BJP are not years of progress but rather a weakening of urban institutions, halted projects, job losses, and public distress. No master plan has been implemented for major cities like Bhopal and Indore in the past two years, halting municipal development."

The MLA stated, "Congress introduced a master plan in 1995. Another plan was due in 2005, but the BJP, in power for over 22 years, has failed in this task. Instead of development, chaos is surfacing in cities like Bhopal and Indore."

Highlighting the contentious 90-degree flyover in Bhopal, the collapse of a bridge during construction in the Raisen district, and the low height of metro pillars in Bhopal and Indore, Singh pointed these out as examples of financial wastage and 'deadly corruption'.

'Commissioning Games'

The Congress leader accused, "There's an ongoing game of commissions, where design flaws are intentionally included to inflate budgets under the pretense of rectifications. Oversight is lacking, and the major contractors evade accountability."

Mention of Ujjain Land Pooling Scheme

The former minister also referred to the recently scrapped Ujjain Land Pooling Scheme, alleging that CM Yadav initiated it for personal gains but was compelled to withdraw it due to pressure from Congress and farmers.
