Pranav Adani, Director at Adani Enterprises, participated in the special program 'Agenda Aaj Tak' on Thursday. During the event, he addressed various questions and outlined future roadmaps for the development and infrastructure of the nation. He emphasized the crucial role of Assam in India's strategic landscape, stating that the region should have received significant investment much earlier, but this has been delayed. He highlighted Assam as a critical zone for national interests.

'The Significant Role of Assam'

Speaking on Assam's geographical importance, Pranav Adani said, 'Plans for the development and expansion of Assam's airport are underway, and we are setting up a 3200 MW power plant there. Assam's role in the Northeast is immense, as it's the gateway known as the 'Chicken Neck' that connects the 'Seven Sisters' states.'

He further added, 'Realistically, Guwahati Airport has the potential to become a major hub for the entire region, facilitating travel throughout the Northeast, much like Dubai's hub status for global travel. Assam is strategically positioned, and we, as a nation, should have invested heavily in such critical areas long ago.'

Hopes for the Future - Pranav Adani

Earlier in the conversation, Pranav Adani also predicted a hopeful future for 2026, highlighting the journey towards a $5 trillion economy and aiming to achieve $10 trillion in the next five to six years, with infrastructure being a vital part of India's growth story. He stated, 'Whether it's roads, airports, ports, energy sectors, utilities, or urban sustainable living, these are significant areas of focus. I believe the government's primary focus in 2026–27 will remain on these, and we are optimistic about this.'

Infrastructure is Not Easy Business

He said, 'Infrastructure is not a quick-profit business due to its long gestation period. It is not a business where you invest today and see returns in one or two years. Continuous investment is required in the initial years with a long-term vision. However, this is where opportunities lie. If you look at business prospects over 25 to 50 years, today's airport developments are planned with the next 50 years in mind. The same applies to the business of power and energy production.'
