The opening encounter of the two-match Test series between India and South Africa is underway today (November 14). The play has ceased for the first day. India has scored 37 runs with one wicket down in their first innings. Sundar is on 6 and KL Rahul on 13, both not out.

Jasprit Bumrah delivered the first breakthrough for India, bowling out Ryan Rickelton. Ryan's dismissal came in the 11th over of the South African innings, which was Bumrah's 6th. Following that, Bumrah, in his seventh over, orchestrated an edge from Aiden Markram that was caught behind by Rishabh Pant. At Markram's dismissal, the South African team was at 62/2.

Additionally, 9 runs later, Kuldeep Yadav had South African captain Temba Bavuma caught at leg slip by Dhruv Jurel. By lunch, the South African score was 105/3 in 27 overs. Post-lunch, Kuldeep's magic struck again when he got Wiaan Mulder out LBW looking dangerous. Following Mulder's wicket, Tony de Zorzi fell for 24 to Bumrah's inswinging delivery, dismissed LBW.
South Africa seemed to stabilize, but then Siraj weaved his magic. In a single over, he dismissed two batsmen - first Kyle Verreynne, followed by Marco Jansen. This left the South African score at 147/7. Shortly before the tea break, Corbin Bosch was trapped LBW off Axar Patel's delivery for 3 runs. Bumrah then wrapped up the South African innings by bowling out Simon Harmer (5 runs) and Keshav Maharaj (0 runs). Bumrah finished with stellar figures of 5 wickets for 27 runs.
