Famed devotional singer Kanhaiya Mittal has decided to join Congress. Speaking to AajTak, Kanhaiya Mittal mentioned that he would soon be joining Congress. It is said that Kanhaiya Mittal wanted a BJP ticket for the Panchkula seat in Haryana, but the BJP fielded veteran leader Gyan Chand from there.
During the 2022 UP Assembly elections, Kanhaiya's song 'Jo Ram Ko Laye Hai, Hum Unko Laayenge' became very famous. After this, Kanhaiya Mittal also met CM Yogi and has praised the PM and CM from public platforms.

Speaking to AajTak about his decision to join Congress, Kanhaiya Mittal said, 'I sang for Yogi Adityanath Ji, not for the BJP.
