Political turbulence has once again escalated in Maharashtra. The state's Deputy Chief Minister and NCP leader Ajit Pawar recently met with Union Home Minister Amit Shah at the Sahyadri Guest House. This meeting sparked political discussions across the board. Amidst the buzz, a statement from Sachin Ahir, an MLA from the Uddhav Thackeray faction, has emerged. He claimed that not only BJP legislators but the entire cabinet is upset with Ajit Pawar. They are deprived of funds, and their initiatives are stagnating. Those who once fought against others now find themselves seated beside them. Hence, Ajit Pawar might have shared his grievances during Amit Shah's visit.
Sachin Ahir further added that in the upcoming local body elections, the grand alliance members may be 'at each other's throats'. There's significant turmoil, and only time will reveal the outcome. He mentioned that the NCP and Shinde faction are recruiting individuals by promising them election tickets. This implies that each grand alliance party plans to go their separate ways in the elections.
Meanwhile, Rohit Pawar, an MLA from the Sharad Pawar faction, questioned how BJP legislators' and ministers' internal discussions leaked during Amit Shah's visit to Maharashtra. This raises critical questions but also suggests that BJP leaders may desire the controversy surrounding Ajit Pawar to escalate. Such dynamics could enable BJP to contest the upcoming local elections independently, a strategy they initiated planning six months prior.
