Terrorists panic over PAK camp destruction, recruit fiercely

While JeM thrives on digital platforms, LeT rallies through its party. India had launched airstrikes on May 7 on these two groups in response to a terror attack in Pahalgam on April 22 that claimed many lives.

India’s decisive action against terror has left terrorist organizations in disarray. Following four days of intense conflict between India and Pakistan, these extremist groups operating from Pakistan have intensified their anti-India activities. They are now openly spreading venomous rhetoric against India to gather support, funding, and new recruits. This insight comes from publicly available videos and propaganda.

Active in Pakistan, terror outfits Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) and Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT), recognized by the UN as terrorist (banned) organizations, are broadcasting openly. By falsely proclaiming Pakistan's victory, they are trying to entice support amidst the India-Pakistan conflict. While JeM is busy on digital fronts, LeT is orchestrating rallies through its political entity. Notably, India had launched airstrikes on May 7, targeting the headquarters of these groups following a heinous terrorist attack in Pahalgam on April 22 that had claimed many lives.

Venomous Campaign by Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM)

Jaish-e-Mohammed has turned to social media platforms like Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, X (formerly Twitter), WhatsApp groups, and Blogspot to spew anti-India propaganda and lure new recruits. They are spreading jihad ideologies, soliciting donations, and inciting youth against India.

The Markaz Sayedna Tamim Dari (MSTD) Facebook page forms a key element of JeM's digital outreach. Provocative speeches by JeM's leader Maulana Masood Azhar are uploaded, glorifying ‘martyrs’ and inciting jihad against India. An audio clip also features a JeM member criticizing the Pakistani government for shutting madrassas and mosques post the Indian airstrikes.

By posting Telegram and WhatsApp group links in their Facebook and Instagram comments, Jaish hopes to expand their reach. India Today’s Open-Source Intelligence (OSINT) team has identified over 30 platforms promoting JeM’s ideology, anti-India propaganda, and the 'Ghazwa-e-Hind' narrative, enticing Pakistani and Kashmiri youth to join jihad.

A WhatsApp channel, promoted on Facebook, urges Pakistani youth to pledge allegiance to JeM leader Masood Azhar and join the fight against India, providing contact information and recruitment guidelines. Furthermore, Jaish calls for support messages for Masood Azhar with event details to rally support.

Hoardings in Bahawalpur invite people to attend a major event in August, featuring images of Markaz Subhan Allah damaged in the May 7 Indian strikes. It encourages donations towards the mosque’s reconstruction and an invite to a poetry reading event on August 25, 2025.

Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) Stepping Up

LeT, founded by Hafiz Saeed, is more robust due to its political arm, Pakistan Markazi Muslim League (PMML), allowing it to host large public events. On May 28, PMML orchestrated rallies across 24+ locations in Pakistan marking 'Youm-e-Takbeer,' commemorating Pakistan's nuclear tests in 1998. These rallies featured posters of Pakistan’s military chief Field Marshal Aasim Munir and Hafiz Saeed with anti-India slogans.

Led by Saifullah Kasuri, designated a terrorist by the UN, these rallies saw Kasuri admitting involvement in the April 22 Pahalgam attack, leading to India’s May 7 airstrikes on nine terror hubs in Pakistan. In a Takbeer Conference on May 28 at Kasur’s Allahabad Chowk, Kasuri claimed pride for Kasur’s newfound fame post-attack.

Joining the rally was LeT co-founder, US-designated global terrorist Amir Hamza, chanting ‘Kashmir will become Pakistan, Jammu will become Pakistan, Punjab will become Pakistan.’ The stage also featured Hafiz Saeed’s son, Talha Saeed, also a designated terrorist by the US and India. Notable was Malik Muhammad Ahmad Khan, speaker of Pakistan's Punjab Assembly. Previously named the Milli Muslim League, PMML emerged after 2018’s terror designations of its leaders. Despite participating in last year's general elections, PMML won no seats.
