Following the hour-and-a-half long all-party meeting before the monsoon session of Parliament, Union Minister Kiren Rijiju addressed the media about the discussions held. He emphasized the government's willingness to discuss all issues, provided it is conducted within parliamentary rules. Rijiju assured that the government will not shy away from any debates. The monsoon session of Parliament is set to commence on Monday, July 21.

Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju explained that the government attentively listened to the perspectives of all political parties during the meeting. The opposition requested the presence of PM Modi during discussions on significant issues like the Pahalgam terrorist attack and Operation Sindoor. Responding, Rijiju stated that while Prime Minister Narendra Modi may not participate directly in debates, his presence in the parliamentary precincts is constant.

Minister Rijiju highlighted that the government has prepared 17 bills to be tabled during the monsoon session. He mentioned that the government will address any queries raised by the opposition during the debates. To media queries, he commented, "We can't respond to everything here outside."

Rijiju expressed, 'The smooth functioning of Parliament is the responsibility of both ruling and opposition parties. Often, smaller parties do not get enough time to speak in Parliament... this will be considered as well.'

Government to Push for Impeachment Against Justice Verma

When inquired about the impeachment proceedings against Justice Verma, Minister Rijiju explained that such a decision requires input from all political parties, not just the government. Significant quantities of cash, some burnt, were reportedly found at Justice Verma's residence, prompting persistent calls by the opposition for impeachment.

Minister Rijiju revealed that the government will proceed with presenting an impeachment proposal against Justice Verma in the House. This initiative has received consensus support and signatures from over 100 MPs. Although a timeline for the impeachment process is presently undetermined, it is confirmed that the proposal will be introduced in parliament.
