In a significant operation against cybercrime, the Gorakhpur police of Uttar Pradesh nabbed two criminals who hacked online ticket booking websites and payment gateways to swindle people. These offenders were apprehended near the Champa Devi Park in the Ramgarhtal area at approximately 7:55 PM on January 2.

During police interrogation, the accused Rajan Sahani and Shivam Nishad confessed to using the Burp Suite Community Edition App to hack websites. This app aids in identifying and exploiting security flaws in a website. They used Dummy Payment during online transactions, making it appear as though the transaction was processed, although no money was deducted.

The criminals provided false information on ticket booking websites, like incorrect Aadhaar card numbers and mobile numbers, effectively masking their true identity and facilitating their cyber frauds. Police received a tip-off about these offenders engaged in hacking and defrauding online websites.

Laptops and Other Electronic Devices Seized

Based on the information, a team cornered and arrested them. Laptops and other devices used in committing cybercrimes were recovered from the criminals. Cases have been filed against the apprehended criminals under various sections. Their laptops and electronic devices were seized and sent for forensic examination.

The police are also delving into how many more individuals might be involved in this ring and how many have been duped so far.
