Orchids from Thailand, anthuriums, Malaysian alpinias alongside Kolkata's tuberoses, marigolds, and roses from Delhi will adorn Lord Ram's temple in Ayodhya for the celebration of Ram Navami. Flowers have been imported from domestic and international hubs, and about 350 artisans are working day and night on the decorations.
Floral archways are being prepared to welcome pilgrims. Special attention is given to the heat, ensuring the decorations remain fresh. The flower decor was highly favored during the deity's consecration ceremony, and the same lavish decorations are being planned this time. Imported flowers from various regions have been placed at the Pilgrim's Center for arrangements.
Floral decorator Ravi Pandey revealed that tomorrow, April 17th, marks Ram Navami. Around 500 years after its construction, the grand temple will host its first ceremonial birth of Lord Ram following the consecration ceremony. Previously, on the eve of Ashtami, devotees flocked to the temple of Ram's family deity, Badi Devkali. It is believed that after his victorious return from Lanka, Lord Ram first worshipped at this temple, which was established by his ancestor, King Raghu. A single stone in this temple graces devotees with the simultaneous presence of Goddesses Mahakali, Mahalakshmi, and Mahasaraswati.
This Year's 'Surya Tilak' of Lord Ram is Exceptionally Special
Priest Dhananjay Pathak from the temple shared that it will be the first symbolic birth of Lord Ram in the monumental temple, followed by the extraordinary 'Surya Tilak' ritual. With gadgets, mirrors, lenses, and metal pipes installed with support from scientists at the Central Building Research Institute (CBRI), Roorkee, this spectacle will be conducted.
There is excitement among the people to witness the 'Surya Tilak'. Visitors consider this a unique confluence of spirituality and science. The 'Sun Consecration' has aroused tremendous enthusiasm among the masses. With Ram Navami approaching, a pilgrimage center has been inaugurated for the convenience of visiting devotees.
