After the fall of Sheikh Hasina's government, numerous incidents have surfaced in Bangladesh, keeping the country in the headlines. Now, a professor from Dhaka University has made a statement against India. His remarks suggest Bangladesh is moving toward enmity with India and friendship with Pakistan. During a seminar, Dhaka University Professor Shahiduzzaman discussed nuclear weapons for Bangladesh and described India as a major threat. He said, "We must make a nuclear deal with Pakistan. Pakistan is Bangladesh's most reliable and trustworthy security partner. This is precisely what India doesn't want us to believe."

While making statements against India, Professor Shahiduzzaman said, "The appropriate response to change India's habitual perception is to become nuclear-capable, to nuclearize Bangladesh. Being nuclear-capable doesn't necessarily mean becoming a nuclear power. By nuclear-capable, I mean we should enter a nuclear agreement with our former rival, Pakistan."

He emphasized that without Pakistan's technical assistance, India cannot be stopped. Professor Shahiduzzaman said, "Pakistan has always been Bangladesh's most reliable security partner; Bangladesh should lean toward Pakistan."

'They Will Do Anything to Protect Us from India...'

Professor Shahiduzzaman further stated, "The hearts of Pakistanis are envious. They don't want us to apologize, but they also don't want us to stay with India. They are willing to do anything to protect us from India."

Professor Shahiduzzaman also talked about acquiring nuclear missiles from Pakistan and deploying them at India's border. He mentioned that deploying Pakistan's Ghauri short-range missiles in the northern Bengal and Chittagong hill regions would have a deterrent effect on India.

He alleged that India wants to occupy certain parts of Bangladesh and make them part of its northeastern states, and to prevent this, help is needed in achieving a nuclear agreement and acquiring Pakistani missiles.

It is noteworthy that Professor Shahiduzzaman made these statements while addressing military officials during a seminar organized by retired military officers. During his speech, he labeled Pakistan as "Bangladesh's reliable and trustworthy security partner," while describing India as a "major threat."

He said, "Bangladesh wants to have good relations with India and other neighboring countries. This should be based on 'impartiality and equality.'"

Yunus mentioned in his address that after taking the oath as the head of the interim government, leaders from various countries, including India's Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Pakistan's Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, called to congratulate him. He said, "We seek good relations with India and other neighboring countries, but these relationships should be based on impartiality and equality."
