Following the U.S. attack on Venezuela, Mexico also finds itself in the spotlight. In this context, Denmark has made its stance clear with a decisive statement. The Danish Ministry of Defense announced that any intrusion into Danish territories will be met with immediate military action, with troops firing without awaiting orders from their commanders.

Denmark asserted this position as the U.S. contemplates military moves in Greenland. The Ministry shared with local newspaper Berlingske that a directive from the Cold War era, specifically 1952, unequivocally mandates that should any foreign force threaten Danish territory, armed response is warranted without waiting for command approval.

This directive traces back to April 1940 when Nazi Germany invaded Denmark, partially crippling communication systems in the Scandinavian country, and it remains in force to this day.

This statement surfaces as U.S. President Donald Trump sets sights on Greenland, under Denmark's stewardship, threatening to forcibly acquire the autonomous territory if necessary. Trump claims that Russian and Chinese naval presence renders this Arctic region critical for U.S. national security.

Denmark and Greenland have repeatedly declared the territory is not for sale. Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen recently warned that any military attempt to take Greenland could spell the end of NATO. She told Danish broadcaster TV2, "Should the United States decide to launch a military assault on another NATO nation, it would bring everything to a halt."

‘Critical for Global Defense...’

Vance asserted, "Europe has not confronted the fundamental rationale presented by the President and his administration. Greenland is vital not just to U.S. security but also on a global scale." He highlighted the region's pivotal role in missile defense.
