The condition of the Yamuna River in Delhi has worsened. Images depict a river blanketed with toxic froth. Despite numerous assurances and efforts by the Kejriwal government, Yamuna’s pollution refuses to abate, fueling fresh political tensions. Kumar Vishwas and BJP leader Tejinder Bagga have launched fresh attacks on Kejriwal regarding the issue.
BJP leader Tejinder tweeted, 'Congratulations Delhi, Kejriwal has made snowfall happen in the city.'

Meanwhile, Kumar Vishwas sarcastically tweeted, 'This is false talk. We are a patriotic party. I have seen the papers of Yamuna personally.' His remarks were targeted at Delhi’s Health Minister Satyendar Jain, who has been arrested by the ED in a money laundering case. In response, Arvind Kejriwal criticized the central government and highlighted the removal of a health minister in Punjab, branding the Aam Aadmi Party as a patriotic party.
Similar Scenes During Chhath Puja
Last year, during Chhath Puja, similar scenes emerged when women were spotted performing rituals amidst the froth on the Yamuna. Subsequently, the BJP criticized the Kejriwal government. On the other hand, Arvind Kejriwal announced a new deadline for Yamuna’s cleanliness. He mentioned that the government would establish sewer connections everywhere and expressed hope that by February 2025, the Yamuna would be clean. Delhi BJP released various videos of Kejriwal's promises over time, captioning, 'Same script, new date. CM Kejriwal’s yearly unfulfilled promises about Yamuna’s cleanliness.'
