Delhi Police has made significant progress against illegal Bangladeshi infiltrators. Within a single day, the South and North South Police conducted an operation, leading to the arrest of 24 illegal Bangladeshi infiltrators. Some have been residing in the nation's capital for years, engaged in various occupations such as business, rag-picking, and scrap dealing, while others were working as hospital attendants.
The Joint CP of the Southern Range disclosed that among those apprehended were four women and two children. Upon investigation, many possessed Indian identification cards obtained through forged documents.
'On the Basis of Fake Documents...'
The police officer further explained, "There is suspicion that certain intermediaries not only assist in creating these false documents but also help fabricate voter IDs, PAN cards, and Aadhar cards. They also arrange minor jobs and accommodation for these individuals."
The police have been consistently questioning them, and some names have surfaced, indicating those who aided in the document fabrication for the infiltrators.
Although Delhi Police has been conducting ongoing operations against illegal Bangladeshi infiltrators, the efforts were intensified after the Lieutenant Governor of Delhi instructed the Police Commissioner to expedite actions against these infiltrators in December. Search operations and verifications are occurring in every district.
According to reports, Delhi Police has identified over 600 illegal Bangladeshis, and with assistance from the FRRO, the deportation process is underway. More than 100 have already been deported.
