The capital city of Delhi is gearing up to experience another bout of cold and rain. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has stated that the beginning of February might see light rain showers. According to IMD forecasts, from January 31 to February 3, Delhi might witness light rain, thunderstorms, and gusty winds. This weather will bring charm but also keep it chillier.

The latest predictions by the IMD indicate that over the next four days (January 31 to February 3), on January 31 (Saturday), moderate fog will appear in various locations during the morning, with dense fog in places. As clouds move in by afternoon and evening, very light rain might occur at night. During this period, winds could reach speeds of 30-40 km/h. The minimum temperature will hover around 6-8 degrees Celsius, with maximum temperatures ranging from 19-21 degrees Celsius.

Let's discover what Delhi's weather will be over the next 4 days:

January 31 (Saturday):

Expect fog in the morning, while the evening might bring light rain or drizzle with possible thunderstorms. The temperature outlook predicts a minimum of 7 degrees Celsius and a maximum of about 20 degrees Celsius.

February 1 (Sunday):

The day will generally stay cloudy. From morning to noon and then in the evening, one or two spells of light to very light rain are possible. Gusty winds of 30-40 km/h alongside thunderstorms and lightning are expected. The temperatures will range from a minimum of 11-13 degrees Celsius to a maximum of 17-19 degrees Celsius.

February 2 (Monday):

A cloudy sky will persist. There can be one or two occurrences of light to very light rain during the day. Expect gusty winds with thunderstorms. The temperature minimum will be between 11-13 degrees Celsius, with maximums from 17-19 degrees.

February 3 (Tuesday):

Clouds will dominate the skyline. Mild to moderate fog might envelop the morning. While the chance of rain is minimal, it will remain cold. The temperature range will be a minimum of 11-13 degrees Celsius and a maximum of 17-19 degrees Celsius.

According to the IMD, these weather shifts in Delhi are due to a new Western Disturbance impacting Northwest India from the night of January 30. This will cause heavy snowfall in the Himalayan regions and rain in lower plains. While Delhi will see light rain, caution is advised due to potential thunder and strong winds.

Previously shared information by the IMD highlighted that January saw unusual rainfall in Delhi. February's onset seems set to follow with cold and wet conditions, with a 3-4 degree drop in minimum temperatures likely intensifying the cold.
