Delhi CM Promises Land for Street Vendors, Solar Policy Announced

The government of Delhi, led by the Aam Aadmi Party, will conduct a survey of street vendors. Following the survey, vendors will be allotted permanent spaces to set up their shops. Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal made the announcement via a video release. In addition, the Delhi Solar Policy 2024 notification has been issued.

The Chief Minister announced the creation of a system that ensures street vendors don't face traffic issues or harassment. Following bail amidst the enforcement directorate case and just before the Parliamentary elections, Arvind Kejriwal promises permanent locations for street vendors.

Addressing the concerns of not appearing for the ED summons, Chief Minister Kejriwal was presented at the Rouse Avenue Court. The court granted him bail due to the bailable nature of the case. Post this, Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal assured the citizens of Delhi in a video message that street vendors, who come from impoverished backgrounds, will receive lands from the municipality to carry out their work with dignity.

On January 19, CM Arvind Kejriwal announced the Delhi Solar Policy. After waiting approximately a month, the LG approved it, and the policy has now been implemented. According to Delhi's Energy Minister, Aatishi, this policy's implementation will benefit Delhi's citizens and reduce pollution.
