With the swearing-in, Delhi's Rekha Gupta government immediately swung into action. The Chief Minister orchestrated a major administrative reshuffle on Friday, directing officers and employees to report back to their original departments. The services of former Chief Minister's and ministers' personal staff were terminated. Consequently, in the last 24 hours, the Delhi government has made five major decisions.
Dr. Pankaj Singh, the Health and Transport Minister in the Delhi government, announced an important meeting today, citing significant concerns in the Health Department.
He stated that the Mohalla Clinics would undergo a thorough investigation, scrutinizing everything from medicine shortages to doctors' prescriptions. If discrepancies are found, action will be taken. A comprehensive evaluation of DTC buses is on the cards, with reports suggesting 40% of buses are stationed at depots, and no new buses have been procured, prompting further scrutiny.
Furthermore, the Rekha Gupta government affirmed that the free travel for women on Delhi buses will continue without any changes.

Officers and employees appointed elsewhere by the previous government have been asked to report back to their original departments immediately. The past Chief Minister's and ministers' personal staff have been relieved of their duties. However, the termination of personal staff services typically follows a minister's departure from office, allowing new ministers to appoint their own staff.
Nearly a week ago, all departments were asked by the former government to provide details of contract and personal staff, with instructions to return to their primary departments.
Addressing the press immediately after Thursday's Delhi Cabinet meeting, Chief Minister Rekha Gupta declared that the BJP government decided to implement the Ayushman Bharat scheme during its first Cabinet meeting. Gupta stated that the scheme would be introduced with a top-up of five lakh rupees, with five lakh each funded by the Delhi and central governments. Following the completion of formalities, the scheme will be rolled out promptly.
Meanwhile, the Rekha Gupta government has indicated plans to present pending CAG reports. She highlighted that there were 14 reports left unsubmitted by the previous government, which would be presented in the first session of the assembly.
During the election campaign, the BJP cited CAG reports, claiming a revenue loss of Rs 2026 crore due to the liquor policy scandal and further alleging that several AAP leaders received kickbacks. The Rekha Gupta government aims to address these concerns during its tenure.
It's noteworthy that Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta is scheduled to meet President Droupadi Murmu at 12:30 PM today. She will then meet Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar at 1 PM and Prime Minister Narendra Modi later in the evening.
