The world's largest religious gathering, Mahakumbh, commenced with grandeur and now concludes with equal splendor. Over these 45 days, more than 6.6 billion devotees have taken the sacred plunge into the Sangam, with their enthusiasm and spirit as vibrant today as it was on day one.
On the last day of the Mahakumbh, 1.44 billion devotees have made the sacred bath in the holy Triveni. It was estimated that three billion devotees would arrive today, although the figure of those taking a dip in the Kumbh has surpassed 6.6 billion.

From Common to Influential: All Took the Sacred Dip
This Mahakumbh was exceptional in many ways. After 144 years, such a unique conjunction occurred, prompting excitement in everyone to plunge into the Sangam’s sacred waters. Reaching Prayagraj posed several challenges, yet once there, the contentment on every pilgrim’s face was evident. From ordinary individuals to significant personalities, devotees from every class came to perform their ritualistic dips, with nearly half of the country's population participating.

6.6 Billion People Took the Plunge
CM Yogi stated that from January 13's Poush Purnima to February 26’s Mahashivratri in Prayagraj, more than 6.62 billion devotees achieved spiritual benefits by bathing in the sacred Triveni.
Numerous Challenges Arise
Throughout this 45-day-long spiritual gathering, millions took sacred dips at the confluence. Amidst such a large-scale event, records were set alongside challenges. From stampede incidents to political debates around the confluence waters, obstacles arose. Yet, despite these, millions remained devotedly engaged in the Mahakumbh. Starting January 13, this Mahakumbh has seen over 6.6 billion participants taking sacred immersions, equaling more than double the population of the United States, setting a world record.

The UP government had estimated an influx of 4.5 billion devotees at the Mahakumbh. Every day, on average, over 1.5 billion devotees made the sacred plunge into the Sangam. More than 3 billion devotees traveled by train to partake in the Mahakumbh, while delegates from 73 countries and 5 million foreign citizens also attended the event.

The Fair Spanned 4,000 Hectares
The Mahakumbh area spanned 4,000 hectares, 160 times larger than the world's largest stadium. There were a record 25 sectors constructed in the Mahakumbh fair area. Across a 13-kilometer stretch, 42 ghats were built, including 10 permanent ones. Furthermore, 30 pontoon bridges were assembled to cross the Ganges and Yamuna. For maintaining security in the fair area, 56 police stations and 144 checkpoints were established, with two additional cyber police stations, and 50,000 security personnel were deployed.
