Today, in a significant political move, the cabinet in Bihar witnessed a notable expansion with the swearing-in of seven new ministers. This expansion holds strategic importance as the state gears up for the assembly elections at the year's end.
The newly inducted MLAs in Nitish Kumar's cabinet are Sanjay Saravagi (Darbhanga), Sunil Kumar (Bihar Sharif), Jivesh Kumar (Jale), Raju Kumar Singh (Sahebganj), Moti Lal Prasad (Reega), Vijay Kumar Mandal (Sikti), and Krishna Kumar Mantu (Amanaur). Prior to this, BJP State President Dilip Jaiswal announced his resignation from the Revenue Minister role.

Dilip Jaiswal Resigns
In a conversation with news agency ANI, Dilip Jaiswal stated, "I am resigning from the Revenue Minister post as per the 'one person, one post' principle of the party. I am grateful to the central leadership for entrusting me with the responsibility of the state unit." He emphasized that cabinet expansion is the prerogative of the Chief Minister, and this occurred two days before the Bihar budget session starts, which will commence on Friday.
Approval from Central Leadership
According to sources, a previously inconclusive discussion led to a meeting between Central Minister JP Nadda and Nitish Kumar regarding the potential cabinet expansion. It is reported that this expansion only materialized after the central leadership approved the list of potential ministers proposed by the Nitish government.
Multiple Portfolios Managed by BJP Ministers
Currently, several BJP ministers in Bihar are managing more than one department. Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Kumar Sinha is leading three departments, while State Ministers Mangal Pandey and Nitish Mishra each oversee two departments.
