MG Comet Blackstorm Price & Features:
MG Motors has launched its most affordable electric car, the MG Comet, in a new special edition called the MG Comet Blackstorm. This edition features cosmetic upgrades along with smart new features, making it more appealing than the regular model. The Blackstorm edition starts at 7.80 lakh INR (ex-showroom), paired with a battery rental program of 2.50 INR per km.
The most noticeable change in the Comet Blackstorm's design is the blacked-out exterior and interior theme, highlighted with red accents. This new color scheme gives the vehicle a sporty and bold appearance. The booking for this electric vehicle is officially open at a starting booking amount of 11,000 INR.
It's important to note that the company has not yet announced the car's pricing without the BAAS service. The regular model starts at 7.50 lakh INR, inclusive of a battery rental cost of 2.50 INR per km, making the Blackstorm approximately 30,000 INR more expensive.

The Comet Blackstorm features 'Starry Night' exterior paint with red accents around the bumper and fog lamps. Dark colored badges for 'Comet EV' and 'Internet Inside' adorn the rear. Customers can also opt for an accessory package that includes a 'Blackstorm' badge on the fender, 'Morris Garage' lettering in red on the hood, red star highlights, black-out plastic wheel covers, and door decals.
The black-out theme continues inside with black leatherette upholstery, featuring 'Blackstorm' in red on the headrests. MG has also enhanced the sound system, now boasting four speakers compared to two in the regular variant, ensuring a more enjoyable journey.

Battery Pack and Driving Range:
The powertrain and mechanics of the Comet Blackstorm edition remain unchanged, still powered by a 17.3kWh lithium-ion battery pack delivering a driving range of 230 km on a single charge. The electric motor generates 42 HP and a torque of 110 Nm.
Battery Charging:
The company claims that it takes approximately 7 hours to charge the battery with a 3.3kW charger, achieving around 80% charge in just 5 hours.

The Comet Blackstorm edition offers exclusive features, including dual 10.25-inch instrument clusters and touchscreen infotainment, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, connected car features, LED headlamps and tail-lamps, a rear parking camera, keyless lock/unlock, and dual airbags. Notably, this is MG's first electric car to be offered in a Blackstorm variant; previously, only petrol-diesel models received this treatment.
