Congress won in 1998, 2003, and 2008 in the national capital. In the 2013 elections, BJP gained the most seats but fell short of a majority, leading Congress to support AAP externally, making Arvind Kejriwal the chief minister. This government lasted for a year before Kejriwal resigned. Following the 2015 and 2020 elections, AAP achieved resounding victories.
