Former cricketer Mohammad Kaif believes that life has come full circle for Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli. In this final phase of their careers, they find themselves in a position similar to their early days when scoring runs was the sole path to secure a spot in the team.

In the third ODI, India achieved a 9-wicket victory. Rohit Sharma's remarkable performance earned him the Player of the Match and Player of the Series accolades. Unshackled from the captaincy, Rohit thrived as a batsman, amassing the highest series runs of 202 with an average of 101. Amidst retirement speculations, both Rohit and Virat's stellar batting quieted all critiques.

What Mohammad Kaif Said

Kaif recounted post-match scenes, mentioning Virat Kohli in a phone conversation, while Rohit Sharma walked past Gautam Gambhir with his trophies, perhaps without exchanging smiles. Kaif remarked that both have realized their respect is contingent upon their performances.

Kaif added, 'Virat was on the phone post-match. Rohit passed by Gambhir with the trophies, possibly without smiling. It's clear to them now that their respect is in their own hands. If I make runs, I will play.'

He further noted, 'As new players, you know no one will support you, so you must perform to remain. Even in this career stage, that mindset remains.

After losing the first two matches, India was on the verge of a 0-3 defeat against Australia for the first time. Shubman Gill's debut captaincy seemed bleak, but Rohit and Virat's heroics salvaged the team.
