In Chhattisgarh's Dantewada district, Maoists have brutally murdered a 30-year-old man suspected of being a police informant. According to a police officer, the incident came to light on Wednesday when it was revealed that on Tuesday night, a group of unidentified Maoists had forcibly taken Hadma Imla from his home in Kakadi village, in the jurisdiction of Aranpur police station. The Maoists then led Imla into the dense forest where they executed him mercilessly.
Initial investigations indicate that the Maoists accused Hadma Imla of being a police informant. They gruesomely slit his throat, abandoning his lifeless body near the village outskirts. Upon receiving the report on Wednesday morning, a police team promptly arrived at the scene. Dead Imla's body was retrieved by the police and sent for a post-mortem examination. Meanwhile, security forces initiated a combing operation in the area to track down the culprits.
Just a day earlier, in a similar chilling incident in a village in Bijapur, Maoists murdered two individuals also accused of being police informants. This sinister event unfolded on Monday night in Bugdicheru village, under the Tarrem police station's domain. A group of unidentified Maoists stormed into the village and dragged Karam Raju (32) and Madvi Munna (27) out of their homes, subsequently slitting their throats with sharp weapons, resulting in instant death for both, right on the spot.
Villagers alerted the police about this horrific act. Upon arrival, the police escorted the bodies for post-mortem. At the crime scene, a leaflet from the Maoists' Jagirgunda Area Committee was discovered, accusing both Mournful victims of acting as police informants. Among the deceased, Raju had previously been an active Maoist who later surrendered.
Further police examination revealed that Maoists had once attacked Munna, suggesting he was working for the police. Tragically, several years ago, Munna’s elder brother was also murdered by Maoists in Potali village situated in the neighboring Dantewada district. Over the years, anti-Maoist operations by security forces have significantly impacted the Maoists.
