The dates for the forthcoming general elections have been announced, setting the stage for all political parties to gear up for the contest. In this vein, the Bahujan Samaj Party divulged its first list of 16 electoral champions. The party has rolled out Majid Ali for the Saharanpur constituency to square off against Congress's Imran Masood. Meanwhile, BSP has endorsed Mudahid Husain for the seat in Amroha, where he will face former BSP leader-turned-Congress candidate, Danish Ali.

Girish Chandra Jatav, given the BSP ticket for Bulandshahr, previously represented the Nagina Lok Sabha seat and serves as a party leader in the Lok Sabha. BSP is fielding Dara Singh Prajapati in Muzaffarnagar. This seat is currently held by BJP's Sanjeev Balyan, who has been MP for the last decade and is also a sitting Union Minister. The Samajwadi Party has backed Harendra Malik here. BSP introduces Rajendra Singh Solanki for Gautam Buddha Nagar, set to contend against Samajwadi Party's Rahul Awana.
It's noteworthy that Uttar Pradesh, with its 80 Lok Sabha seats, is a pivotal battleground state for all political factions. During the last election, BSP allied with the Samajwadi Party, securing a victory in 10 constituencies.
The state of Uttar Pradesh holds considerable sway in shaping the political landscape, owning the highest number of Lok Sabha seats in the country. According to the Election Commission, the national elections will occur in seven phases, with the final outcome expected on June 4. Voting for the first phase begins on April 19, followed by the second on April 26, the third on May 7, the fourth on May 13, the fifth on May 20, the sixth on May 25, and the seventh and last phase on June 1.
