A chilling incident has emerged from the South 24 Parganas district of West Bengal. In the Bharatgarh area under the jurisdiction of Basanti police station, a young man, enraged by a minor dispute, murdered his sister-in-law and walked the streets carrying her severed head. Identified as Sati Mandal, the unfortunate victim met her end at the hands of her brother-in-law, named Vimal Mandal. Police promptly arrested the perpetrator on the spot.

The Dispute Over Mangoes

According to reports, the tragedy unfolded this morning in the Bharatgarh area of Basanti. A heated argument over a family matter led Vimal Mandal to brutally end Sati Mandal's life with a sharp weapon.

The initial investigation pointed to a conflict over mango-picking that escalated, eventually resulting in the horrific murder. The accused, showcasing a chilling normalcy, nonchalantly walked the streets, leaving the neighborhood in fear.

The Suspect's Intentions

Local residents promptly alerted the authorities. Vimal Mandal was apprehended by the police. During questioning, the suspect expressed that he was heading to the police station with the weapon and severed head in hand. Investigators suspect a deep-seated family grudge might have motivated the crime, despite early reports attributing the act to the mango dispute. The investigation is currently underway.
