The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast that the downpours will persist across the North-East. They have issued red and orange alerts for several parts of Assam and orange and yellow alerts for the other North-Eastern states.

In Assam, 17 districts are grappling with the impact of floods and landslides, affecting over 78,000 people. More than 1,200 individuals have sought refuge in five different relief camps.
