A serene and well-prepared Braj Mandal Jalabhishek Yatra is currently taking place in Nuh, Haryana. However, the haunting memories of violence from 2023 still linger. Two years ago, in a wave of turmoil, the Nuh violence claimed five lives and left a trail of property destruction worth millions. But this time, the district administration has left no stone unturned, going as far as cutting internet access in the region.
Unrest Erupts: Two Years Ago
Nuh witnessed a spine-chilling episode when the Braj Mandal Jalabhishek Yatra was organized on July 31, 2023. The eruption of violence during the procession resulted in the tragic loss of five lives, including that of a brave home guard. Arson attacks, vandalism, and looting of vehicles and shops were rampant.

The violence shook the age-old bonds of brotherhood in the Mewat region to its core. Around 61 cases were filed, indicting nearly 800 individuals. Most of these cases are still pending in court. Monu Manesar, Bittu Bajrangi, and Maman Khan were among the accused.
Murder Case Against Monu Manesar
Charges of orchestrating violence were filed against Monu Manesar in Nuh's cyber station on August 26, 2023. Captured by the police, he was presented before the Nuh court. Moreover, accusations linked him to the Nasir and Junaid murder cases, prompting Rajasthan police to acquire his custody through a production warrant. Consequently, he remains incarcerated in Rajasthan.

Bittu Bajrangi Out on Bail
Accused of inciting violence through inflammatory social media posts, Bittu Bajrangi faced charges in Nuh's Sadar police station on August 15, 2023, for illegal firearm possession. In a dramatic arrest from Faridabad, he was later granted bail. Currently, Bittu Bajrangi remains free on bail while the case awaits trial in court.

His appeal to the Punjab and Haryana High Court also proved unsuccessful. His next hearing is scheduled in Nuh court on July 31, often conducted through video conferencing for security reasons.
Maman Khan Accused of Violence
Congress MLA Maman Khan from Ferozepur Jhirka faced four cases related to Nuh violence, recorded on August 1, 2023, at Nagina police station. After spending some time in jail, Khan was granted bail. Despite his imprisonment, his popularity soared.
