In a remarkable display of political prowess, the BJP is set to form the government in Haryana for the third consecutive time, claiming 48 seats in the assembly. Leading the charge with a stunning victory is Congress candidate Maman Khan from the Firozpur Jhirka seat, who overcame adversity and allegations linked to the Nuh riots to secure a landslide win. Garnering over 98,000 votes, he unseated BJP’s Nasim Ahmed. The narrowest margin was witnessed in Uchana Kalan, where BJP's Devendra Atri edged out the competition with a merely 32-vote lead.

Maman Khan's journey was not without hurdles. Arrested amidst accusations of inciting violence in the Nuh riots, he defied the odds and emerged victorious by a significant margin, though his party could not form the government in Haryana.

Within Firozpur Jhirka, a commanding mandate for Maman Khan translated into 130,497 votes. Comparatively, Nasim Ahmed of BJP received just 32,056 votes. Meanwhile, INLD's Mohammad Habib secured 15,638 votes, while JJP's Jan Mohammad finished fifth with 720 votes. Interestingly, AAP’s candidate Wasim Zafar received fewer votes than even NOTA - 439 votes compared to AAP's 234.
The Thrill of Narrow Wins - Devendra Atri's Victory

In Uchana Kalan, Devendra Atri's win was a testament to the intensity of close contests. Defeating Congress's Brijendra Singh by only 32 votes, Atri secured 48,968 votes, slightly more than Singh's 48,936. The constituency also saw former Deputy Chief Minister Dushyant Chautala, a recognizable name, slipping to fifth position with 7,950 votes, while AAP’s Pawan Fauji ended at eighth.

Unpacking the Election Outcome in Haryana

This election marked a dramatic triumph for the BJP, securing victory in 48 seats, whereas Congress managed to prevail in only 37. The electorate sidelined Dushyant Chautala's Jannayak Janata Party despite their coalition with Chandrashekhar’s ASP. Not a single seat was earned by these parties. Nevertheless, the Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) managed to secure two seats, a notable performance despite the loss of Abhay Chautala in Ellenabad. Coalition efforts by INLD and BSP could not earn BSP any success this time. Independence shone with victories for three unaffiliated candidates, including Savitri Jindal from Hisar, Devendra Kadyan in Ganaur, and Rajesh June from Bahadurgarh.
