In Bihar, the traditional curd-flattened rice feast during Makar Sankranti has once again become the talk of the political corridors. Various political parties including RJD, LJP (R), and Congress are organizing this feast at their respective party offices and residences. The most significant event being the feast at RJD supremo Lalu Prasad's residence at 10, Circular Road, which has already commenced. Visitors have started arriving at Rabri Devi's residence, and the feast at Chirag Paswan's place is also garnering much attention.
Upon Chirag Paswan's invitation, CM Nitish Kumar arrived at the curd-flattened rice feast. According to reports, Nitish Kumar had scheduled his visit for 12 noon but reached as early as 10 AM. As a result, Chirag Paswan was not present at the state office.
In Chirag Paswan's absence, the party's state president and the chairman of the state parliamentary board were present. Chief Minister Nitish Kumar stayed at Chirag Paswan's office for about 10 minutes before departing.
Lalu Invites Select Leaders
According to the information, Lalu Yadav has invited only a few select leaders to his residence. In the past, Lalu's home was open for the curd-flattened rice feast to party leaders, workers, and the general public. However, the circumstances have changed, leading to a more exclusive gathering of selected party leaders this year, continuing the trend from the previous year.

The LJP office also hosted a curd-flattened rice feast, attended by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar. At Chirag Paswan's residence, the NDA alliance put on a show of strength and solidarity, as leaders from the BJP, Janata Dal United, and allied parties were present.
The feast at Chirag's residence is seen as a demonstration of NDA's unity and strength.
On Tuesday, Bihar BJP's state president Dilip Jaiswal also organized a feast at the party office, inviting all NDA leaders.
Congress, too, is holding a curd-flattened rice feast at their Sadaqat Ashram office for the grand alliance leaders. In Bihar's politics, the curd-flattened rice feast is not just a cultural event but a vital medium to showcase coalition strength and tweak political equations.
